Privacy.

IndieIP is designed to collect as little personal information as practical.

Postcode and address lookups

When you use the checker, the ZIP code or address you enter is used to identify broadband availability and the technical characteristics relevant to self-hosting. A ZIP code can cover many households, so an exact street address may be needed for a precise result.

Third-party data sources

As live availability sources are connected, a lookup may require IndieIP to send a ZIP code, address or FCC location identifier to network operators, wholesale platforms or other data providers. The checker will not send more information than is needed to perform the lookup.

Server logs

Like most websites, the server may record basic technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested page and browser information for security, diagnostics and reliability.

Cookies and analytics

IndieIP does not currently require non-essential cookies for the checker. If optional analytics or other non-essential tracking is introduced later, this page and the site controls will be updated accordingly.
